Founded in 2017 by Chris Thompson and Dan Adams, Amber delivers power to Australian households at true wholesale prices. We bring transparency to the market, with customers only paying publicly available wholesale prices plus a monthly subscription month fee. Amber is working to enable customers to automatically use power at cheaper, greener times, to give them the best way to get power from the grid. Amber is backed by some of Australia’s best accelerators and investors, including EnergyLab (Australia’s leading energy accelerator) and Startmate (Australia’s leading tech accelerator). Investors include Blackbird and Black Sheep Capital. The company recently won Startup Vic’s Impact Pitch Night, for the best startup focused on making a positive social impact. Amber passes through wholesale electricity prices directly at the cost to us, this includes: wholesale energy costs, hedging costs, network charges (per kWh and per day), metering costs, environmental costs and carbon offset costs. ‍ The retailer and provider of energy to customers of the Amber energy product is Energy Locals Pty Ltd ACN 606 408 879, a licensed electricity retailer (trading under business name Amber Electric Retail Services)
