Benjamin Bolton

I have honestly loved every aspect of the program. From engaging class content featuring the latest climate science, to world-class guest lectures and fascinating discussions with teachers and peers, I'm really enjoying Terra.do 🙂

Toral Varia

Easily the best [12] wks of my career up-skilling journey. If I could, I'd do it all over again. @kamal_kapadia & @SeignerAlana unpacked significant & scientific lessons on #ClimateChange, brought us global mentors from the field to learn from.

Alyssa Dizon

I'm ecstatic about my [new climate job] opportunity— truly a dream job for me that I could not have gotten without Terra! Terra solidified my interests in tech for the built environment with parallel work in policy advocacy / community organizing, and that's now exactly what I'll get to do.

Anirudh Gupta

Transitioning into the climate action and sustainability challenge is a slow and steady, yet overwhelming process. A key tool in my toolkit that I'm loving as I peel back the layers and chart my route, is Terra.do's Climate School.

Frequently asked questions

How does the journalist scholarship work?

Five (5) qualifying journalists will be given full scholarships to this upcoming cohort. We will determine qualifying candidates based on the strength of your application, which will cover both your climate intent as well as your journalistic experience.

NOTE: Qualifying applicants will be requested to pay $1 to confirm their commitment.

What if I don't qualify for full scholarship?

All applicants to Terra.do have access to merit- and need-based scholarships from a limited funding pool. If you don’t qualify for a full scholarship, you will still be considered for this financial aid.

We want this program to work for learners of all stripes, regardless of individual or organizational ability to pay. Please apply—we will make every effort to accommodate the circumstances of qualified students. If it helps, we can offer you an instalment-based payment schedule where you pay the course fee in 3 parts.

Who will benefit most from this program?

Anyone who wants a grand overview of the entire climate landscape. Anyone who wants to shift their time & energy into doing climate work. High-school level familiarity with math and science is a plus, but not essential.

What if I don't like the program?

If you’re less than 3 weeks in, we’ll refund you 100%. Our only request is that you give us feedback so we can make improvements.

When do classes start, and will they fit my schedule?

The course is 12 weeks long and starts with introductory sessions on October 20th (applications close on October 17th). To accommodate for a diverse global pool of participants, most classes are asynchronous so you can decide when to go through them during the week. Our Slack channel for the cohort also facilitates asynchronous discussions between groups. All live sessions will be recorded for later viewing, though we encourage you to attend live where possible. The main live sessions run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (US time), with other optional sessions throughout the week.

Are you going to be running more cohorts?

Yes. Our plan is to run a new cohort every 7 weeks. If you’re interested in a future cohort, please mention it in your application.
